There is very little difference between the P226 frame and the P229. Below is a picture of P229 parts in a P226 frame.
The only difference in parts between a P226 and P229 are:
- Grips
- Grip screws
- Mags
- Locking insert
- Hammer stop
- Slide
- Barrel
- Guide rod
- Recoil spring
If you would like to build a 226 with a 229 slide, use a 229 drill jig on a 226 frame and it will take a 229 slide. You would want 226 grips and grip screws since your grip is a 226.
We like the longer grip of the 226 a lot. Our lead engineer uses this setup for his personal collection, 226 frame and 229 slide, so all parts are interchangeable with his 229s except the locking insert and hammer stop. He uses 226 mags in both.

Daniel Hudson
Hello, What P226 frame do I need for a p229 slide?
David
Hello Daniel,
You would need to use the REV2296 frame here:
https://www.matrixprecisionparts.com/product/revenant-arms-rev2296-beaver-tail-frame/
or for non – beaver tail:
https://www.matrixprecisionparts.com/product/revenant-arms-rev2296-frame/
You can use all of your 229 parts except the hammer stop would need to be a 226 hammer stop/

Hey I picked up a p229 80% frame. Is it possible to use a p228 parts kit with slide on the p229 frame
David
Yes, for sure that will work. Just make sure you use the 228 locking insert with the 228 barrel.

I am looking for upgrades for couple Sig P226, are your parts min or cnc?
Do you offer law enforcement discounts on purchases? And if so what do I need to do?
David
Hello,
None of our parts are MIM. They are CNC machined out of tool steel. We do offer LEO discounts. Contact us at support@matrixprecisionparts.com
